Overview

 

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Press Lead Person - 2nd Shift in our York, PA location. The Press Lead Person has a key role in the operation of the Fabrication department. This position works closely with the production team to meet production targets, maintain quality standards, and optimize machine performance.

 

This is a 2nd shift position from 3:00pm to 11:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Sets up press dies for machine operators and takes responsibility for reviewing the set-ups of the machine operator/set-up team members. Maximizes efficiency of the process to maintain production and quality standards.
  • Serves as the back-up to the supervisor and ensures production schedules are maintained; assigns duties to operators during the shift.
  • Repairs and maintains dies and tooling, ensuring quality production meets customer requirements.
  • Works with supervisor in decisions on replacing or adding dies to ensure production schedules can be maintained.
  • Prioritizes the press area to ensure the integrity of the schedules are followed.
  • Monitors the training of all personnel in the press area.
  • Performs production duties of subordinates within the area to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Ensures that a neat, orderly work area is maintained.  Ensures tools and supplies are correctly maintained, stored and organized.  Assists in general shop housekeeping.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • 4 or more years of experience in an extrusion or fabrication environment.

  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn and apply new skills
  • Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments
  • Flexible and driven to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize them appropriately
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available
  • Must have regular attendance

  • The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat.

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
