CNC Operator

Job Summary:

Consider joining the Pennex family as a CNC Operator at our York, PA location. The CNC Operator is responsible for CNC machine operation and production to meet customer requirements.  This is a second shift position working from 3pm to 11pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for the operation of the CNC machining centers within the Fabrication Shop. There may be additional work on other production equipment as necessary.
• Performs set-up of CNC equipment to the customer specifications.
• Advises supervisor of any new tooling needed for new programs.
• Provides proper care and basic maintenance of tooling and equipment.
• Maintains good housekeeping.
• Follows all safety protocols and standards.
• Inspects finished product using precision measuring tools such as calipers or micrometers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education 

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience 

• 1 to 3 years of previous CNC experience
• Previous experience with CNC programming software

• A desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
• Highly motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn and apply new skills
• Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments
• Flexible and driven to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple projects and prioritize them appropriately
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available
• Must have regular attendance

• The employee is occasionally required to sit and use hands.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

• The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
