Overview

Utility driver for PEP department

 

This position is 3rd shift, 10pm-6am.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Operates industrial powered truck or electric hoist to assist in the loading/unloading of materials and products. 
  • Determines the amount of packing materials and supplies required for operations based on production schedule, and assures materials are available.   
  • Coordinates the Finishing/Cutback saw activity per the production schedule 
  • Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to determine which materials (skids, racks, bundles) need to be moved. 
  • Checks ERP system to confirm quality testing is completed and passed before lining up materials to cells or saws.   
  • Establishes first in first out of materials from storage to work sites. 
  • Ques material by lot number from shipping departments to saws/work cells. 
  • Counts, weighs, and records number of units or materials moved/handled on daily production sheets. 
  • Attaches identifying material tags or labels and marks information on containers. 
  • Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands them together. 
  • Returns empty racks to shipping areas.  
  • Supply slat carts to each saw and takes to presses when full.  
  • Works with scheduler to adjust for changes in the schedule. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education 

  • High school diploma or equivalent  
  • One or more years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 

Experience 

  • Forklift certification preferred

 

Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities    

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals 

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance 

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations 

  • Ability to operate mobile powered equipment, function independently or in a team environment and possess good verbal and written communication skills 

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment 

  • Willingness to work in a variety of settings, including indoors and outdoors, and in different weather conditions 

  • Consistently exhibits a positive, respectful attitude towards co-workers and customers 

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen 

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available
