Die Polisher

Job Summary: Die Polisher is an entry-level position that learns the manufacturing process of the extrusion die preparation from the Die Corrector team including; setting up, operating, and maintaining the equipment necessary for the preparation of extrusion dies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Polish and prepare surfaces for dies
• Participate in design reviews with engineering
• Contribute to Die Shop team, escalating issues and assisting extrusion team
• Assist die flow movement, staging, and preparation
• Utilize crane system for loading and unloading of caustic tanks
• Operate caustic system when needed
• Disassemble dies and rinse
• Operate automatic media blasting machine
• Perform other duties as assigned

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education 

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
• Additional technical or vocational training in machining, machine operation, or related fields is preferred.

Experience

• Previous experience in a similar manufacturing environment is highly beneficial.

Physical Requirements     

• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and explosives.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
