Manager, Accounting

Consider joining the Pennex family as an Accounting Manager at our Wellsville location. In this role, you’ll be directing the annual financial audit affairs of the manufacturing organization of Pennex Aluminum and overseeing the Treasury, Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP) transactional operations. The Manager, Accounting is responsible for the company’s financial plans and policies, accounting practices, the maintenance of fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. This position involves supervision over general accounting (including Treasury, AR & AP), property accounting, credit and collections, and payroll.

• Maintains the company’s system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets.
• Prepares reports that outline the company’s financial position in the areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and future operations.
• Provides financial advice and guidance to senior management, including the Controller and CFO.  You will work closely with these individuals to develop financial strategies and to ensure that the company's financial goals are met.
• Ensures that the company is compliant with all financial regulations, including tax laws, accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
• Coordinates the provision of information to external auditors for annual and financial institution audit.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education 

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Desired: CPA or MBA

Experience 

• 4 to 6 years of financial management experience in progressively responsible positions that include oversight of AR & AP function
• Experience with multiple site manufacturing operation

Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities       

• Strong knowledge of and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with financial statement reporting and presentation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Highly motivated, self-driven, self-directed, and eager to learn and apply new skills
• Knowledge of basic principles and practices State and Federal employment laws and regulations.
• Continuous improvement mindset – always looking to improve performance of the team and processes of the department and company.

• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
