Overview

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Greenville facility and the employees.  Coordinates activities of the operations by partnering with engineering, operations, sales, and quality teams. Works directly with President, Manufacturing to administer operational plans to ensure the growth opportunities and business objectives met in order to achieve operational excellence and delight the customer.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out day-to-day management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws: these include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 
  • Reviews production and operating reports to determine whether employees meet their performance expectations and coordinates with President, Manfacturing to enforce changes to plant budgets and safety procedures.
  •  Monitors business goals and metrics, executing the business plan and meeting key metrics such as safety, profitability and sales volume.
  • Collaborates with sales to ensure customer satisfaction and sales growth. Provides operational management ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Coaches the leadership team to create a culture of teamwork and actively engages team to leverage strengths and achieve business objectives, develop site specific policies, and establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives. Fosters our dual bottom-line philosophy by leading and demonstrating a culture of safety excellence and engaging employees in behavior-based safety initiatives.
  • Assists in preparing annual operational budget, ensuring accuracy while establishing required resources and planning necessary to achieve sales and profitability targets.
  • Assists in developing and implementing operating methods to improve quality production along with internal and external customer satisfaction. Provides leadership for the Quality team in order to ensure the highest level of quality standards to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Assists in developing and implementing strategic plans by studying the market conditions and financial opportunities, presenting assumptions, and making recommendations.
  • Reviews production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of business.
  • Champions safety culture by actively engaging employees at all levels at a zero-injury philosophy and works with Safety Coordinator to create vision for achieving this goal.
  • Assists in development of operational metrics to measure and challenge the team in order to achieve operational excellence.
  • Develops partnerships with outside processors and businesses in order to support customer demands and compliment the extrusion products developed and produced.
  • Collaborates with Sales leadership to develop annual forecast and provide budget for annual operating plan to meet the business objectives.
  • Implements lean manufacturing goals, strategy, and development for process and operation improvements.
  • Ensures all Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements are met.

Qualifications

  • Education
    • Desired: Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
    • Required: High Advanced training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience
  • Ten or more years related experience and/or training in site leadership will be a plus
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
  • Metals Production experience is a plus
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • A desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
    • Highly motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn and apply new skills
    • Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments
    • Flexible and driven to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple projects and prioritize them appropriately
    • Strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively disseminate information in a clear and concise manner
    • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
    • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available
  • Language Skills
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and employees
  • Mathematical Skills
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Reasoning Ability
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Physical Requirements
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to talk or hear
    • The employee must be able to frequently walk and sit and occasionally stand
    • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
