Overview

Job Summary:  Consider joining the Pennex family as a Quality Manager at our Leetonia, OH location. We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager that is responsible for ensuring that products, services and processes meet or exceed established quality standards.  This position ensures that Pennex consistently meets customer requirements and expectations.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage all IATF-16949/ISO-9001 program activities including being the primary plant representative and authority on IATF-16949/ISO-9001 requirements and the primary contact to external ISO auditors.
  • Responsible for corrective and preventive action processes, including customer interaction. Uses Lean Tools, Statistical Techniques and analytical methods to achieve effective problem solving, root cause discovery and corrective action.
  • Effectively interface with customers and/or suppliers to effectively address issues, concerns, programs, projects, etc.
  • Support manufacturing processes with adequate and effective capability studies, problem solving activities and quality analysis.
  • Develop, coach, motivate, counsel employees regarding quality functions, tools, and philosophies.
  • Assist with the development of quality objectives necessary to support Key Result Area (KRA) plans. Develop and drive action plans associated with these plans.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on improving plant objectives.
  • Collect and compile data to support the QMS management review process.
  • Leads multi-disciplinary team activities associated with Advanced Product Quality Planning.
  • Monitors, guides and reviews outside processors to achieve quality, service and delivery goals.
  • Leads all quality assurance activities associated with production and production planning.
  • Manages and coordinates the Returned Material Authorization (RMA) and Customer Complaint Notification (CCN) activities with input from Sales, Customer Service and Manufacturing groups.
  • Supervises QA personnel in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Responsible for selection of special characteristics, corrective action system, customer portal as a member of the Leetonia Leadership Team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education 

  • Bachelor's Degree in related technical field or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Master’s Degree in technical field such as engineering, math, etc. or MBA is preferred.

Experience 

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Quality management or Quality control in a heavy manufacturing environment with Stringent quality requirements
  • Experience in leading multiple team levels including Lab Techs and Engineers
  • Experience with IATF or AS9100 Certifications
  • IATF Auditor is a plus
  • Experience with Tensile testing, Metallography, OGP and CMM 
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma 
  • Experience with APQP Launch

  • Manufacturing experience required

  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively disseminate information in a clear and concise manner
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference 
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in legal or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Lean Six Sigma Experience
